Banky W celebrates as Police “Arrest” Stray Senator
Nigerian musician and celebrity Bankole Wellington also known as Banky W has taken to his Instagram handle to celebrate the order of arrest issued by the Nigerian Inspector general of police on a Senator who was caught on video slapping a sales girl.
Banky W and some other celebrities had shared a video of a serving Nigerian senator physically assaulting a salesgirl in the country’s capital Abuja.
In the video which went viral, the serving senator was visibly seen assaulting and hauling insults at the girl.
It was gathered that the action took place in an adult toy store in Abuja. There was the presence of his policemen and other bodyguards in the store when he unleashed violence on her and even went ahead to ask the policemen standing there to arrest her.
The Senator Elisha Abbo who was said to have bragged about his crime and showed no sign of remorse made a sharp U-turn and apologized after his actions went viral. Many people are calling for his recall from the senate.
What made the video to become viral was the role that the Nigerian celebrities who are inclined towards activism such as Banky W, played to ensure that the crime did not go unreported.
Banky W who has shown commitment to social development was one of the few Nigerian celebrities who took a special interest in the case.
Banky W shared the video and called on his fans and supporters to do the same until the video gets to the appropriate authorities.
Following the directive giving by the inspector general of Police that the Senator who was seen in the video be arrested, Banky W. has ones more taken to Instagram to appreciate all who showed concern and also to celebrate the power of social media.

Her only “crime” was saying “Oga take it easy” when he got aggressive with her female store owner friend. For that, he slapped her multiple times, and then made his policemen arrest her.
