Blackface Sues Banky W and Wizkid For Intellectual Property Theft
Wizkid and Banky W in Big Trouble As Blackface Sues Them For Intellectual Property Theft
Blackface, the former member of Plantashun Boiz have filled a lawsuit against Wizkid and his former manager Banky W for intellectual property theft.
According to Blackface Naija, Banky W and Wizid stole his song in 2011 and there’s a clear evidence to prove it. I have remained quiet while my name has been dragged in the mud the past few years. Some of Nigerian’s biggest artists have infringed on my copyrights but I always restricted myself to speaking out against this in the media.
“Maybe because I always felt that music is an art and not really a business where you bring in lawyers and all that. That’s why I couldn’t believe when I was sued for N50m by the same people who stole my intellectual property”.
“I have nothing personal against Wizkid and Banky W, in fact I can say I groove to both their music, but the fact is that they stole my song in 2011 and there’s clear evidence to prove it. We’ll allow the court to decide”.
2Face Idibia, also an ex-member of the Plantashun Boiz slammed a lawsuit of a whopping N50m against Blackface for defaming his character, the cause of the lawsuit was that Blackface claimed that 2 Face Idibia stole his song ‘African Queen‘ which was a hit song from 2 Face Idibia’s debut solo album ‘Face2Face‘
This has led to the hardly seen singer raising alarm on various media platforms, claiming that his former bandmate stole the song from him including his manager Efe Omorogbe as a co-writer without any credit given to him. Now, 2Face and his manager have filled a lawsuit against him at the Ikeja High Court claiming N50m million.
