Chairman Harps On Synergy Between Executive And Legislature


The newly elected local government chairman of Akoko-Edo, Hon Don Oteh Umoru has charged the legislature to cooperate with executive so that together they could take the LGA to the next level.

He gave the charge while inaugurating the newly elected councillors representing the ten wards in the LGA. The chairman admonished them to be ready for serious legislative business that would justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate.

He challenged them to render selfless services to Akoko-Edo people. His words,”We must as a team work together to reach out to Akoko-Edo people who came out to vote us even when other people choose to boycott the election he said”.

Continuing, the chairman said both old and new projects would be completed within the shortest possible time, noting that attention will be given to community participation in projects.

That is, projects that are community-based, such communities would determine the type of projects they wanted. The HOLGA Mr.JA Eseigbe officially handed over the Mantle of leadership to the chairman, who was conducted around the various offices by the DAGS Barr, Yakubu Braimoh for onward inspection of the local government staff.

Present at the inauguration ceremony were the Vice Chairman Hon Philip Eguarojie aka PRAGMATIC.,Hon Kingsley Ogini Topa councillor representing Ward one, Abodurin Solomon Amadu, Councillor Ward two, Evarester Ejama,Councillor ward three, Owolabi Samuel Ojo Councillor Ward four,Joseph Sunday Jolly, Councillor Ward five, Oyewale Samuel, Councillor Ward six, Igbekele Monday, Councillor Ward seven, Akerele Kemi Elizabeth Councillor Ward eight, Ugbodaga James Ojo Councillor Ward nine and Otaru Benson Councillor ward ten.
