Increasing Akoko Edo IGR, Vice-Chairman seeks for traders cooperation.
As the drive to increase Akoko Edo internally generated revenue (IGR) continues the Vice Chairman Hon. Philip Eguarojie has been meeting stakeholders for the second time in a week. In an interactive section, he sought for the cooperation of traders and lorry drivers in the payment of tickets of government motor parks, stores and markets in Akoko Edo.
The council Vice Chairman used the avenue to inform traders of the council readiness to carry out renovations and upgrade some markets as already contained in the proposed budget of the council.
Mrs F. Owolabi who is the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) stressed on the laws of Edo state House of Assembly regulating revenue collections in the state. She advised the traders not to default.
Representatives of the traders association appealed to the Council Vice Chairman to also look at their plights which includes a high rate of taxation, dilapidated stores, unlawful trading in motor parks amongst others.
The Vice-Chairman assured them that the council will ask the revenue department to investigate their challenges for necessary steps to be taken to ease their businesses.
The meeting also had in attendance the Council Head of revenue Comrade Ekpen Uyigue.
